Captain This is a highly prestigious rank.  You have promotional rights where you see fit in the junior ranks.  Achieving Captain is not just due to being good at starcraft.  It also involves being active in all aspects of the clan and being a good leader.
Lieutenant Congrats.  You are now a commissioned officer.  Officers are expected to have the highest decorum and standards.  You will be asked to organize events and matches.  You will assist the Sgt. Major in both areas of promotion and discipline.
Sgt. Major You are a senior member of the clan.  The officers look to you for promotions of junior ranks, for acceptance of trialists and for keeping general order of the lower ranks.  Since there is only one Sgt. Major this rank carries special privileges.  You are voted for by the officers so are respected by the whole clan.
Sergeant As a senior non commissioned officer you'll be looked up at by the junior members for help and guidance.  You must show good leadership, gaming skills and participation in clan activities.
Corporal Corporals are respected members of the clan.  They remain active in the forum and are  showing signs of leadership.  They are given the job of training trialists or anybody who requires it.
Private Just passed the trial, well done.  Now you have to be an active member of the clan and play plenty of games, and be active on the forum.
Trialist You have just been recruited.  You must prove  yourself to the higher ranks to make it to private.
